Detectives released images and video Wednesday in an attempt to identify a suspect who followed a man off a SEPTA bus and shot him last week in Juniata.

The victim of the shooting, a 27-year-old man, was shot multiple times in his head, back and abdomen just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, on the 3900 block of M Street, according to police, who said he was hospitalized in critical condition.

In the clip, taken from inside the SEPTA bus, the gunman is shown boarding the vehicle without a mask and sitting down. At some point during the ride, he pulls on a black balaclava-style face covering.

Investigators said he got off with another rider and opened fire at him. The victim attempted to take cover behind parked cars before collapsing due to his gunshot wounds, police said. The suspect then allegedly approached and continued shooting as the man was incapacitated.

The PPD has not commented on a possible motive.

Police described the suspect as a Black man with a thin build and long dreadlocks. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a large skill design on the chest and black Nike shoes with a white logo, according to detectives.
