A home robbery at the hands of three suspects, one who was a supposed friend of the victim, has left a Philadelphia resident recovering from violent baseball bat-inflicted injuries.
The early Friday morning attack on the 1800 block of Cambria Street in Kensington took place inside the home of a 41-year-old resident after he invited in a woman whom he thought was his friend, NBC reported. One was armed with a gun, and the other had a baseball bat, which the suspects used to repeatedly beat the victim in the head and face. “To his surprise, the female that he was with started scratching him in the face, and that’s when he realized that the female obviously had something to do with this,” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said to NBC. “It’s pretty obvious that the female set up this … victim.” The suspects ransacked the home before fleeing with cash and electronics, investigators told NBC.
