W Philadelphia: There’s more than one way to indulge this season

For the chilly season, the W Philadelphia Hotel in Center City has decided put holiday activations, Winter wellness and more surprises on its list of offerings—and Philadelphians can spend the rest of the season indulging in more ways than one.

Firstly, the establishment has a few ongoing activations. For one, visitors can find Cozy Up Cabana Winter Packages on the Wet Deck. The outdoor pool is heated for the season (at 98 degrees to be exact), and hotel and local guests can reserve the package option to indulge in fluffy spa robes, tableside s’mores, and hot cocktails or cocoa on top of the swimming. Reservations can be found online.

The Living Room Bar at the W also has a seasonal change to its menu, and while looking for libations, guests can find some winter favorites in addition to a standalone seasonal martini menu, aka The Martini List. Selections range from a new take on the classic Vesper Martini, a festive variation of the Black Manhattan and more, according to a release. Reservations can also be found online.

Other festivities require some hands-on immersive experiences as well. Coming up on Sunday, Dec. 18, W Philadelphia’s WET Bar will host an intimate botanical arrangement workshop with local floral artist and designer collaborative, Wilde & Lovely. The workshop has room for 16 guests and runs for one hour from 11 a.m. to noon on that date.

This Sunday’s workshop spans the theme “A Tree That’s Not a Tree”, and Philadelphians who head there will be able to create a piece that can either be placed on a mantle or used as a centerpiece at the dinner table—and it can be done with herbs placed there to be “picked” as adornments to holiday cocktails or to garnish holiday dishes.

Those interested can find out more ticket information on W Philadelphia’s Instagram (@wphiladelphia), all of which include the materials, the finished piece, a cocktail or mocktail from Ketel One Botanicals and a gift bag filled with well-being/holistic products.

Another pop-up will set up shop at the Center City hotel this weekend, but this time in The W’s Living Room. From Dec. 15 to 17, South Philly favorite The Merrygold Shop will post up at the hotspot with their selection of unique gift wrap options, cards, and adornments for shoppers to peruse through.

Fans of the season can also partake in a special celebration next week on Wednesday, Dec. 21. To celebrate the Winter Equinox, Philadelphians can head to Y U L E featuring Luna Maye, Alfiya Glow and Chef Khoran Horn. The winter wellness experience includes a plant-based feast by Chef Khoran Horn followed by an immersive sound meditation concert featuring Luna Maye and Alfiya Glow.

And as a release states, this intimate meditative concert experience will take place in The Secret Garden beside cozy outdoor heaters, dynamic lighting, and the full  view of Philadelphia’s City Hall. Guests will be transported by ethereal vocals, crystal singing bowls and violin heard through state-of-the-art spatial audio headphones. Ticket details can be found on Instagram.

New Year’s Eve and Day will also be in full swing at the W Philadelphia for the holiday season.

On the evening of Dec. 31, the venue will host a 1970s nightclub-inspired New Year’s Eve celebration in the Living Room offering an upscale bar and menu selection along with bottle service options. Additionally, the Wet Bar (which will be enclosed) will host an open bar, and Dolce Italian on the first floor will be serving some festive holiday specials, and then a Bloody Mary Bar on the 1st.

Then, the next day on Jan. 1, the Wet Deck will host a “detox brunch,” which includes access to the heated pool, and the site’s AWAY Spa will offer quick detox services including IV hydration provided by Ari Blanc Medical Spa.
