Where to celebrate and watch the Phillies in the playoffs

It’s easy to celebrate Red October in Philadelphia with these special treats and eats. Here are a few spots to watch the Phillies in the playoffs.

Cake Life Bake Shop

Phillies fans can celebrate Red October in Philadelphia in a sweet way by heading to this Fishtown venue to try out their Phanatic Cupcake. The dessert (sold for $7.50) is made with the bakery’s signature Funfetti cake and topped with a piped rendition of the team’s mascot. Locals can nab a single or four-pack ($30) of the treat by dropping by the store while supplies last, by delivery via Uber Eats, or you can opt to pre-order online. Note, pre-orders must be completed by 2 p.m. four days prior to the desired pick-up or delivery date.

Red Owl Tavern

Those who head to this popular locale located inside of the Kimpton Hotel Monaco can find a seasonal sipper celebrating the Phils. Dubbed the “Ring The Bell” ($17), the cocktail is made with Ilegal Tequila, Ancho Reyes Verde, Aperol, bell pepper, agave, and lime.

Night Kitchen Bakery

Another sweet way to celebrate the Phillies in the playoffs comes from Night Kitchen Bakery. The Chestnut Hill locale will be offering heart-shaped Phillies cookies made from traditional shortbread, plus, Phillies cupcakes made with yellow cake and “fluffy” frosting dusted with red sugar crystals.

Puttshack

Puttshack offers a venue not only to watch the Phillies in the playoffs (with multiple TVs taking over its space), but also a way to play automated mini golf using “trackball technology.” Each player will create a unique player profile, synced to their own individual golf ball at the start of gameplay. Engineered with a microprocessor, this golf ball tracks the player’s score, bonus points earned, which holes have been played, and more. 

Puttshack is also offering some themed local specials for the occasion on its menu, including “Philadelphia Tailpipes” ($14), aka spring rolls filled with roasted pork, provolone cheese, garlic grilled broccoli rabe, served with applesauce dip (plus $1 of every purchase of this dish goes to Philabundance), and the Cheesesteak Flatbread ($16) with house-made cheese whiz, shaved roast beef, grilled onions and peppers.

The Hayes

This Midtown Village hotspot is serving up a few different deals while fans watch the Phillies in the playoffs. According to a release,  throughout Red October, locals can enjoy discounted happy hour cocktails, wines, and brews, along with half-priced appetizers during each game.

Menu highlights include discounted small plate offerings of crispy chicken wings ($15), oysters 1/2 shell ($18) featuring a half dozen oysters with lemon and mignonette, French Onion soup ($12) with caramelized onion and a Gruyere baguette, and chickpea hummus ($14) with giardiniera, olive oil, and house made pita.

There are also a few main course options to try out while there spanning their Big A** Bowl Of Mussels ($18), “The Philly Special “($16) aka a sandwich with wagyu ribeye, kielbasa, fried onions, sharp American cheese, mustard, and hoagie spread on a seeded Liscio’s roll, and fried chicken ($12).

Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia

Those looking to celebrate Red October in Philadelphia can head to Center City’s Hard Rock Cafe to try the Red October-tini. The new cocktail is made with a blend of passion fruit and mango puree, orange juice, fresh lime juice, grenadine, ABSOLUT VANILIA vodka, then finished with Riondo prosecco. Fans can sip on the new concoction while watching the game on any of the multiple TVs around the venue.
