Gunfire left at least three people dead and 10 others wounded in separate shootings Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia.
Police said a man was found dead inside a car at around 3:15 a.m. Sunday on the 600 block of N. 54th Street in West Philadelphia. The victim had been shot once in the head, investigators said.
The vehicle, a Cadillac Escalade, was pushed up against other cars and still in drive when officers got to the scene, according to NBC10.
A 19-year-old man died at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children Saturday night in North Philadelphia after showing up with a gunshot wound to his back, authorities said.
The victim arrived at the hospital just after 11 p.m., according to police. Detectives were still working early Sunday to determine the exact location of the shooting.
Early Saturday morning, at around 12:30 a.m., a man in his 40s was fatally shot near the corner of Germantown and Chelten avenues in East Germantown, authorities said.
No one has been arrested in connection with any of the weekend’s killings.
A 26-year-old man was shot once in the left leg just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday inside a convenience store on the 1500 block of Pratt Street in Frankford, police said.
Medical personnel took him to Jefferson Frankford Hospital, and he is expected to survive.
Just before 4 a.m. Sunday, a 32-year-old man was shot in the abdomen inside a property on the 2200 block of N. 18th Street in North Philadelphia, according to authorities.
Investigators said a person was apprehended, and officers recovered a gun. The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police said a 40-year-old man was struck in the hand after shots were fired at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the 3800 block of Mount Vernon Street in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia. The man was later listed in stable condition.
A 19-year-old woman was shot early Sunday morning following a car crash in North Philadelphia, investigators said.
The incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on the 2900 block of N. Broad Street. She was hit twice in the left thigh and taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition, according to police.
On Saturday, just before 9 p.m., a 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot in the right hand on the 2300 block of Margaret Street in Frankford, authorities said. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A man was in critical condition after being shot in the stomach just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday on the 500 block of W. Cumberland Street in the Fairhill neighborhood.
In Kensington, at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, a 33-year-old man was shot six times, including twice in the stomach, near the corner of G Street and Allegheny Avenue, police said. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
On the same block, several hours earlier, just before 3:15 a.m., a 20-year-old man was shot once in the left thigh. He is expected to physically recover.
A 29-year-old man was shot multiple times just after 2 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of S. 18th Street in Center City’s Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, police said. Officers rushed him to Jefferson University Hospital, and he is expected to survive.
Detectives at the scene recovered a gun, but there was no word on a possible arrest.
Minutes earlier, in an unrelated incident, a 19-year-old man was shot in the left arm on the 1700 block of W. Girard Avenue in North Philadelphia. He was hospitalized in stable condition.
