Weekend shootings leave 5 people wounded in Philly

Shootings over the weekend left five people injured, authorities said.

In Logan, a 26-year-old man was grazed in the forehead after someone opened fire just before 11 a.m. Sunday on the 1400 block of Fisher Avenue, police said. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

Officers at the scene found an ammunition magazine, but no one has been arrested, investigators said.

On Saturday, just before 9 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot once in the right foot on the 5900 block of Chestnut Street in West Philadelphia, authorities said. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

Police said a 25-year-old man was shot in the leg at around 4 p.m. Saturday outside on the 2900 block of W. Allegheny Avenue in North Philadelphia.

Medical personnel took him to Temple University Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Officers picked up a man who had been shot in the left leg on the 800 block of S. 55th Street in West Philadelphia at around 3:15 p.m. Saturday.

He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is expected to physically recover, authorities said.

In Overbrook, a 34-year-old man was shot in the left bicep at around 1 p.m. Saturday on the 5900 block of Columbia Avenue, according to police.

He was dropped off at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.

Early Saturday, at around 1:45 a.m., someone stabbed a 46-year-old man four times on the 2200 block of N. Beechwood Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said.

He was being treated at Temple University Hospital and is expected to survive.

Police reported no arrests in the immediate aftermath of any of the incidents.
