A West Chester University student has been charged in connection to an alleged rape that occurred last week in a parking garage near the university campus.
Police have arrested Philadelphia native Austin Eaddy, 23, on allegations he raped a female student on the hood of a car in a New Street parking garage before fleeing the scene when another student intervened, CBS3 reported. RELATED:College sexual assault movement gaining momentum in New York “Obviously it’s a very sad and difficult situation for the victim because she was assaulted, but the good Samaritan did the right thing by going into the parking garage when she heard those screams and interrupting this before it became even worse,” Chester County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Noone was quoted by CBS3. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 6ABC added. Police said Eaddy also took the victim’s cellphone and wallet before he fled. Eaddy was identified by authorities through surveillance images captured at the parking garage, 6ABC stated. He remained in custody on Friday, unable to post a $100,000 bail.
