West Philadelphia shooting leaves one dead and another injured

One man is dead and another is wounded after they were reportedly shot Thursday night in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.

Officers responding to reports of a shooting around 11 p.m. Thursday on the 5000 block of City Avenue found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, NBC10 reported.

According to6ABC, the victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition, but later died from his injuries.

Police were alerted to a second victim of the same shooting that was taken to Lankenau Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the torso, NBC10 reported. According to police, a preliminary investigation showed the man was struck by a stray bullet while walking into a bar.

Later, officers in the Germantown section of Philadelphia spotted a man and a car that matched the description of the suspect and vehicle, NBC10 said.

According to 6ABC, that man is now in police custody for questioning.
