With everything that has currently been going on in the City of Philadelphia, it is a bit odd to be focusing on what fun things that are happening this weekend. Yet, with the Yellow Phase starting June 5, there are some uplifting events that will be taking place that patrons can partake in to raise spirits—including outdoor dining in the Philly suburbs.
While in Philadelphia, sit-down services in restaurants remains banned for the time being, in neighboring counties—including Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware—outdoor seating is allowed. And suburban hotspots are ready to open their doors once again.
Stove and Co. Restaurant Group recently announced their plan to launch outdoor dining starting this Friday, June 5, following the Yellow Phase news from Gov. Tom Wolf. Patrons can expect seating at The Bercy in Downtown Ardmore, Stove and Tap in Lansdale, Stove and Tap in Malvern and Al Pastor in Exton. Doors will open for Happy Hour for each establishment at 4 p.m. and service will remain until 8 p.m. Those who wish to still stick at home can also order take-out or delivery with a slew of new cocktail to-go options as well.
“We have learned so much from this crisis and experience, and we plan to take everything we learned and move forward. Now is the time to look ahead — and we are excited to bring back outdoor dining for our four restaurants — this is such an important step for us and other restaurants in the region that have been so badly hurt by this pandemic,” said Justin Weathers, Co-Owner in a release. “Stove and Tap (Malvern and Lansdale), The Bercy and Al Pastor are all known for their outdoor seating and all four restaurants have been working on a plan that ensures safety for our patrons and our staff. We will open dining that day in accordance with the governor’s guidelines and any local guidelines, and open all four spots for outdoor dining that day at the same time. For Malvern, this is extra good news as we had only been open a few weeks when the crisis shut us down and we never had a chance to finish opening the restaurant’s second bar and patio.”
According to a release, Stove and Tap Malvern, Stove and Tap Lansdale and Al Pastor will each expand outdoor dining to not only fit with social distance guidelines, but to also allow for more patrons in a safe and healthy manner. All three restaurants will open and expand sidewalk seating and launch outdoor open-air tents or umbrella seating (for shade) in adjacent courtyards, parking lots and in the street. The Bercy will follow suit and start with outdoor sidewalk seating, then later in June launch a brand-new menu and expanded seating options.
Stove and Tap Malvern (245 Lancaster Ave.), specifically will be hosting a celebratory Happy Hour for the launch of Yellow Phase this Friday. Socially distanced seating will be available on their patio, sidewalk and even in Stove and Tap’s brand new Summer Beer Garden, which features a spacious, airy and open-area tent (if permits pass) for some shaded seating. The seating count is anticipated to total anywhere from 60 to 120, and throughout hours of operations on Friday, patrons can expect special guests, giveaways and more. The space is dog friendly as well and the public is also welcome to bring their own table games and bubbles. Later in the season, patrons can also look forward to live music, happy hour deals and other specials as the summer progresses, and as regulations and health guidelines allow. After launching this Friday, Stove and Tap Malvern’s hours of operation will be Tuesday to Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m.
Stove and Tap Lansdale (329 W. Main St.) is following a similar tune of their sister spot in Malvern and will also be launching outdoor seating on the sidewalk and in their brand-new beer Stove and Tap Summer Beer Garden with an open-air spacious tent (if permits pass) on Wood Street. Seating count will total from 20 to 60, and guests who head to the Lansdale location can expect an assortment of food and drink options, and later in the season, live music and Happy Hour specials. Those interested can also bring along their furry friends—this location is dog-friendly as well. Following this date, new hours will be Tuesday to Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m.
Al Pastor (560 Wellington Sq.) in Exton will also be opening their doors for outdoor dining this weekend. The hotspot will be hosting guests outside with patio, sidewalk and a festive umbrella seating that will take over the central courtyard of the Eagleview Town Center. Outdoor seating will run from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and following this date, new hours will be Tuesday to Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m. Those who head to Al Pastor are also welcome to bring their furry friends along as well.
The Bercy (7 E. Lancaster Ave.) in Downtown Ardmore will also be launching their outdoor seating this Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. According to the release, the initial seat-count will be around 20-25 and they hope to work with township officials on expanded seating and out-of-the-box dining options. Look for new menu additions, pop-ups, partnerships and expanded days of week and hours coming later in early summer as well. Dogs are also welcome to join guests, and after Friday, new hours of operation will be Wednesday to Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.
