You’ve probably heard about the world’s first restaurant with a post-apocalypse theme opening in Philly tomorrow — Mad Rex. At first glance, one would think that a restaurant that looks as cool as this one would fall short when it comes to food, but in this case, you would be mistaken. The food at Mad Rex, under the direction of executive chef Peter Rule, certainly lives up to the hype, using healthy, locally-sourced ingredients. Diners can cook their own meat on a black lava rock, sip expertly crafted cocktails in bullet-adorned glasses and even enjoy homemade ice cream inside of a Himalayan salt bowl.
