When will Phillies top prospects make an impact on MLB squad?

The Phillies’ farm system is vastly improved, due in part to the arrival of over a dozen prospects in seven trades over the last year and a half.

With talent loaded up in the minor leagues, fans are understandablycurious about time frame. When will this team be good again?

While it is way too early to tell, it’s never too early to contemplate. Here’s when we think the Phils’ top 10 prospects will arrive at Citizens Bank Park for the first time.

1. J.P. Crawford, SS — ETA 2016: The organization’s top prospect has had much fanfare as he’s ascended through the Phils’ minor league system. He hit .288 across two levels last season and, according to Larry Bowa, could make the Big League squad by mid-season 2016. He will, however, force the front office to decide what to do about Cesar Hernandez and Freddy Galvis, who are expected to start at second and shortstop respectively in 2016.

2. Mark Appel, SP — ETA 2016: Acquired as part of the Ken Giles trade, Appel is a former No. 1-overall draft pick and will start the season near the top of the Triple-A rotation, just a short hop from South Philly.

3. Jake Thompson, SP — ETA 2016: Thompson could be one of the biggest steals for the Phillies, coming East from Taxas in the Cole Hamels trade. He had an ERA of 1.88 in Reading last season.

4. Nick Williams, OF — ETA2016: Williams has power and loves to hit home runs. In a recent visit to Philadelphia, the former Rangers draft pick said,”It doesn’t get this cold in Texas, it’s freezing, but when Iwalk out there I absolutely want to take BP. I can’t wait to hit here.”

5. Jorge Alfaro, C — ETA 2017: The Phillies will have Cameron Rupp and Carlos Ruiz for one more season, while Aflaro (who set the Columbian record for an MLB signing bonus at $1.3 million) gets ready to make his big league debut.

6. Cornelius Randolph, OF — ETA 2019: There are very high hopes for Philly’s 2015 first round pick, especially after he hit .302 in 53 games in the Gulf Coast League.

7. Roman Quinn, OF — ETA 2017: Quinn is a speedy outfielder who, if he didn’t get hurt, might be a contender to make the bigs in spring training. He needs one more season but could be manning center field in the Bank sooner rather than later.

8.Franklyn Kilome, SP — ETA 2019: He was signed as a 17-year-old in 2013 but has become an impressive young pitcher, reaching 95 mph with his fastball.

9.Zach Eflin, SP — ETA 2017: Eflinhas a killer sinker and will join Lehigh Valley’s loaded staff in 2016. He could be a middle of the rotation guy.

10. Vincent Velasquez, SP — ETA 2016: Many pontificators have Velasquez penciled in as the Phillies’ No. 5 starter next season. He had Tommy John surgery but prior to being injured he was a Top 100 prospect with the Astros.

Also keep an eye on: BenLively, SP (ETA 2018),Nick Pivetta, SP (ETA 2019),Jimmy Cordero, RP (ETA 2018),Thomas Eshelman, SP (ETA 2019),Harold Arauz, SS (ETA 2020),Alberto Tirado, SP (ETA 2018),
