Where Magazine Awards Key to the City

Amongst a crowd of Philly’s elite, Where Magazine and Philadelphia-based jewelry maker LAGOS presented the fourth annual Key-to-the-City Award at a special reception at the Palomar Hotel on Wednesday, October 5. The pair teams up every year to honor the hospitality leader who best embodies the spirit of Philadelphia and goes above and beyond the call of duty on a day-today basis.

Past winners include Mary Mastrobuoni of the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center and Gail Feinstein of the Omni Philadelphia. This year’s nominees were concierges from top Philadelphia hotels, including John LaCompt of AKA Rittenhouse, Gerri Diggins of the Westin Philadelphia, Fran Nachman of the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia and Maureen Crumbly of the Philadelphia Marriott. The winner is chosen in a vote by a select committee of hospitality professionals from visitor-frequented businesses and attractions.

“We are thrilled to once again honor Philadelphia’s top hospitality ambassador with this special award,” says Where Publisher, Deirdre Affel, who presented the award with LAGOS president, Steven Lagos. Maureen Crumbley of the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown took home the 2011 award. Bobby Andrews of Philadelphia Trolley Works Company calls her an “outstanding representative for Philadelphia.” Congratulations to all the nominees who work to make Philly a fabulous destination.
