On Saturday, Oct. 30, Fall Fest & Spooky Saturday will be taking over the East Passyunk neighborhood of the city. Beginning at 11 a.m., Philadelphians can partake in fall-themed festivities including a free costume photo booth (for children, adults, and pets), live music and entertainment, grab-and-go pumpkins, trick or treating at Avenue businesses and more. Adults on the other hand, can also indulge and explore 40+ craft and arts vendors, spirited cocktails, seasonal fare, and so on.

MilkBoy Philly 

According to a release, the iconic Philadelphia-based brand consisting of concepts spanning bars, restaurants, live music venues and a prestigious recording studio, has one energetic kick off to Halloweekend in-store with The HYPE!’S Halloween Bash – an evening of live music and celebration featuring talented musical acts TYE, Monte, Boy Wonder, Ariel Skye, and Sinnia Brown, on Friday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. Costumes are highly encouraged, and tickets can be purchased online for $12.

South Street’s PumpkinFest

The South Street Headhouse District (SSHD) is once again launching their annual event, and although its modified from years past for safety, there is still plenty to see and experience while there. On Oct. 30, guests can check out a pumpkin carving contest, pumpkin decorating, trick or treating with local businesses, above the mask face painting, drinks, food and the highlight: Live circus performances by The Give & Take Jugglers as presented by The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts. Visitors have the option of attending one or all three performances taking place under the Shambles at 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Stratus Rooftop Lounge

Why not celebrate Halloween in an elevated fashion? Stratus is located on the 11th floor of the Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Old City, and on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. they will be hosting their 7 Deadly Sins soirée. While there, Lead Bartender Christopher Devern will be serving-up seven “haunting” cocktails with light fare and snacks to pair along with the libations. There will also be a costume contest that night with a $200 prize.

Nightmare Before Tinsel

If you want to go all out when celebrating Halloween and all days leading up to it, Nightmare Before Tinsel should be at the top of your list. This themed pop-up bar is decorated all over with exhibits, props and custom art as well as serving up witches bru cocktails, seasonal fall beers, costumed bartenders and much more. This years theme is based around The Devils Lair, and standout cocktails include their Ecto Cooler Shot ($11, Crystal Head Vodka, Midori, pineapple juice and a gummy brain) The Ninth Gate ($16, Patron Barrel Select Reposado, Fernet, chocolate simple and orange juice), Dipped in Wax ($12, Makers Mark, maple simple, apple cider and cranberry juice) and Pumpkin Brew ($11, Pinnacle Pumpkin Spice, Bailey’s Irish Cream and Cold Brew Coffee.)

Punch Line Philly

There are a few different ways to celebrate Halloween with the city’s premier comedy club. First up, there will be ‘Hocus Pocus’ Trivia on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Punch Line Philly in Fishtown. As the release states, ‘Hocus Pocus’ buffs can earn prizes and raise funds for the Pennsylvania SPCA while there, and the top three finishing teams will win special prizes, including VISA gift cards and Tito’s vodka. Tickets are just $10 and all proceeds benefit the PSPCA’s lifesaving mission. Then, on Oct. 30 there will also be a ‘Hocus Pocus’ drive-in movie at the IKEA South Philadelphia beginning at 5:30 p.m. The drive in can accommodate over 100 cars and priority seating is available for those who wish to sit upfront, with first and second row spots available for a donation of just $200 and $150 respectively. General admission tickets, which parking will be given to on a first come, first serve basis, are available for a donation of $45 per car.

Morgan’s Pier

This water-side favorite might be closed on Halloween (the owners are taking their staff on a thank you trip for working during the pandemic), but there is still plenty of time to get into the Halloween spirit. Back for its seventh season, Morgan’s Piers Fall Fest features a revamped menu, drinks and activities. Highlighted dishes include their buttermilk biscuits with black pepper gravy and honey butter, with the spicy mac ‘n cheese prepared with cavatappi pasta, cooper sharp and herb breadcrumbs, brisket cheesesteak, and much more. Drinks wise, visitors can sip on The Pier’s Spiked S’mores, which includes vanilla vodka, hot chocolate, honey cinnamon syrup, topped with gooey marshmallows and drizzled with chocolate syrup and graham cracker rim, or their pumpkin spice, which guests can indulge in with an adult-twist. The Spiked Pumpkin Latte will include Tito’s vodka, pumpkin puree, RumChata, and coffee. As always, Morgan’s Pier will also show off their proclivity to local brews in their season selections, including Mainstay Octoberfest, 2SP Baby Bob Stout, and Troegs Lucky Holler Hazy IPA. While there, guests are also invited to pick their perfect pumpkin from the Pier’s Pumpkin Patch for only $5/$10, with carving kits provided. Additional entertainment, including live acoustic music, and DJ entertainment is also scheduled on Thursday nights, Friday happy hour and night, Saturday day and night, and Sunday. This upcoming Monday is also the final Yappy Hour (dogs welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. and proceeds go to the PSCPA), and on Oct. 30 the Fall Fest will end with a Halloween Bash hosted by Brittany Lynn. Tickets are $55 and can be found online.
