The Yellow Phase is almost here, but that means different things depending on where you live. For those in the City of Brotherly Love, things aren’t going to be changing much—outdoor dining is still prohibited as of now. But there are a few places offering up enticing specials anyway. For surrounding areas around Philly however, there will be a few big changes that do include outdoor dining at specific locations.
Oath Pizza
Oath Pizza in Ardmore, Suburban Square will begin to allow outdoor seating at 50% capacity starting this weekend. Ordering is simple and can be done at the restaurant or online/through their app if you wish to still dine at home—take-out, curbside and delivery options will still be intact throughout the weekend. Enticing options include eight craft pizza choices or a build your own option, plus a variety of house-made salads, sides, kid’s options and sweets. Vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options are also available as well.

P.J. Whelihan’s
Just in time for the start of the Yellow Phase, all P.J. Whelihan’s locations will be opening up around the Greater Philadelphia area for outdoor dining, with the exception of P.J. Whelihan’s in Malvern (although they will be re-opening on June 8 for curbside pick-up and outdoor dining.) In fact, according to a release, all New Jersey restaurants under the PJW Restaurant Group umbrella will be opening for outdoor dining beginning June 15. This includes all five South Jersey P.J. Whelihan’s, Treno Pizza Bar, The ChopHouse, The Pour House Westmont and Central Taco and Tequila. All of these locations are also continuing to offer curbside pickup. Central Taco and Tequila is currently operating out of The Pour House Westmont and will be moving back for curbside pickup at their own location beginning June 11.
Iron Hill Brewery
The popular chain will be opening up some of its locations for outdoor dining around the Philadelphia area including in North Wales, Media, Phoenixville, West Chester and Huntingdon Valley. Each establishment has taken the time to expand their outdoor seating into parking lots to adhere to social distancing guidelines and will be offering patrons a limited menu for sit-down, pick-up or take-out as well featuring some of Iron Hill’s most popular items (including to-go craft and cocktail options). The chain’s New Jersey locations will also be following suit once the Yellow Phase is implemented there as well.
Spread Bagelry
Spread Bagelry in Bryn Mawr will be re-opening this weekend for pick-up and delivery to celebrate the start of the Yellow Phase. The Montreal-style bagel hotspot will be serving up their usual popular menu items including bagels by the dozen, bagels with assorted cream cheeses and their specialty breakfast and lunch sandwiches such as The Nova Classic, The Whitefish Classic, The Roast Chicken BLT, The Wood Oven Tuna Melt and much more.

La Peg
The hotspot located near the Delaware River Waterfront does have future plans to open up a food truck while adhering to social distancing guidelines, but for now, patrons can instead indulge in that food truck menu for pick-up starting this weekend. The enticing menu includes chickpea and cauliflower tacos, a grilled chicken sandwich, fish tacos and much more. Guests can head to the popular establishment and place their order starting this weekend.
Le Virtu
If you want to celebrate the start of the Yellow Phase in true spirited style, Italian hotspot Le Virtu has just what you need. The popular restaurant recently began selling to-go cocktail options, and the choices are quite tasty. Thirsty Philadelphians can indulge in their Traditional Negroni (made with Blue Coat gin), ‘Merigan (made with Maker’s Mark, Meletti amaro, Antico Carpano and amarena cherries) and the Le Virtu’ in Limbo Martini (made with limoncello, Stateside vodka and simple syrup) for pick-up this weekend. Each drink is 16 oz. and comes out to be $20. If you want to pair the cocktails with some of Le Virtu’s enticing menu options as well, email levirtuphila@gmail.com and write “Quarantine Pick-Up” a day in advance to set your order up.
