Where to get into mischief over Halloween weekend in Philly

Mischief Night:

A Nightmare on Eleventh Street

Friday

Yakitori Boy, 211 N. 11th St. No cover

Wear your creepiest costume for this party at Japanese tapas restaurant/karaoke lounge Yakitori Boy for a chance at the $100 prize. Sip Halloween-themed cocktails like “eyeball shooters” and $5 bottles of Captain Lawrence Pumpkin Ale while you belt out “Monster Mash.” The party repeats on Halloween, but with a “Superheroes and Villains” theme.

Vampiresand Vixens

Friday

Lucky Strike, 1336 Chestnut St.

From $10

Lucky Strike Lounge & Lanes has somehow avoided being a suburban-style bowling alley or a hipster hotspot. Instead, it draws a party crowd for events like the 10th annual Vampires and Vixens (come back Saturday for the ninth annual Heaven & Hell). Drinks specials, a DJ and a costume contest are all on the bill at this Mischief Night soiree.

Halloween:

The BoogeyMan: A Halloween Dance Party

Saturday

Trestle Inn, 11th and Callowhill

$10; $20 for early open bar

Head to Trestle at 8 p.m. for a screening of 1980’s “The Boogey Man” and then stay for music spun by “boogie men” Shearn and Del, plus go-go dancing courtesy of Rubie Tombstone and Ghouldie Dawn. To drink: pumpkin cocktails and the bar’s Halloween take on a Citywide — the Boogeywide with Sly Fox Oktoberfest and a shot of Wild Turkey 81.

Old WesternGhost Town

Saturday

Twisted Tail, 509 S. Second St.

No cover

This Southern bourbon and blues spot is set in a building from the 1700s, so don’t be surprised to see ghosts lurking about (OK, you can be a little surprised). You have to be 21 to head to the upstairs party, which will feature burlesque dancers, fortune-tellers and live music, while fire dancers put on a show outside. Come dressed up — prizes will be given out for scariest, sexiest and most original costumes.

Devil’sCrawl

Saturday

Various locations,DevilsCrawl.com

$10

One wristband gets you into 22 bars, plus access to drink specials and free entry into the after-party at Coda until midnight. Most of the bars are in Center City, but Xfinity Live is part of the fun too. Several locations will be airing the Temple game, so you can show your school spirit, or at least your Philly pride, while you crawl.
