Where to go in Philly for National Hot Chocolate Day

There’s a cold front coming in and the only way to battle the Winter blues is with a rich, indulgent, piping hot cup of hot chocolate. Philadelphians are in luck, as Jan. 31 is National Hot Chocolate Day and many Philly bars and restaurants are offering tasty treats for the special holiday.

The University City spot is helping the City of Brotherly Love through the cold front with their house-made hot chocolate for $4. Everyone can enjoy this sweet treat and adults can even enjoy it with a shot of  Bailey’s and Disaronno for $10 all day on Thursday in celebration of National Hot Chocolate Day. Guests can pair their hot chocolate with one of Co-Ops hearty dishes such as Braised Lamb Bucatini or a Cast-Iron Pork Chop to really beat the cold.

Shane Confectionary

This Old City hotspot offers some piping hot choices that are perfect for the polar vortex and National Hot Chocolate Day. Guests can even get flights, yes flights, of their different flavors so you don’t have to rack your brain choosing just one flavor. Hot chocolate choices include Royal Spanish Drinking Chocolate, White Peppermint, Thomas Jefferson’s Hot Chocolate and much more.

Urban Farmer

Urban Farmer is beating the polar vortex by serving up some of their house-made hot chocolate for $3 all day on Jan.31. Anyone 21 and older can also choose to spike their delicious beverage for just $2 more as well. The hot chocolate is served with an optional dollop of whipped cream and chocolate syrup for the ultimate ode to National Hot Chocolate Day.

The Bar by Bluebird Distilling

The Bar by Bluebird Distilling located in the Bourse Food Hall will be celebrating all day long on National Hot Chocolate Day with their Spiked Hot Chocolate for $7. The spiked hot chocolate is made with your choice of Bluebird Distilling spirit, mixed with house-made hot chocolate and warming spices. Philadelphians can pick up the warm cup of happiness and grab food as well from any of the other vendors at The Bourse.

Max Brenner offers some of the best chocolate creations in the City of Brotherly Love.
