Where to swim in Philadelphia

Summer in the city can be hot. And while escaping to the shore every weekend sounds amazing, not everyone can afford to do that. So why not escape to a pool that’s nearby for a day?

While public pools are a great option, purchasing pool passes to one of the area’s private pools is worth it if you’re looking for something a little fancier.

Here are a few of our top picks on where to swim in Philadelphia this summer.

Valley Beach Poolside Club
1160 First Ave.
King of Prussia, PA
vfcasino.com

This 20,000 square foot club has everything you’d want in a weekend getaway to the beach minus the shore traffic. Located at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, there’s sand, live entertainment, tiki bars, a taco truck and of course, the pool. Seriously, what more could you want? You can purchase a $20 guest pass for the day — no membership required.

Monarch Philly
1031 Germantown Ave.
monarchphilly.com

Monarch Philly is Philadelphia’s only 21+ swim club. And what’s more, the pool is filled with salt water, so it’s a little better for your hair! Enjoy private cabanas, bungalows, live music, cocktails and more, all with killer views of the Philadelphia skyline from Northern Liberties. Pre-sale day passes are listed on the website at $10 but subject to availability. Memberships are also available for the whole summer.

The Rittenhouse Spa & Club
210 W Rittenhouse Sq.

Looking for a place to swim indoors? Check out the pool at the luxurious Rittenhouse Spa & Club in the Rittenhouse Hotel. You can get your laps in even in the winter time and with a day pass, there’s a gym you can have access to as well. Sign up for one of their relaxing spa services (hot stone massage anyone?) and really get zen.
