Where would Don Draper drink?

The ‘Mad Men’ premiere wouldn’t be complete without a proper drink. Where to sip this weekend

Reserve

123 Chestnut St.

www.reservephilly.com

With a cigar lounge and 100-plus bourbon list, we almost wonder if Reserve timed its opening for the Season 5 premiere. The brand-new Old City restaurant and bar is hosting a viewing party Sunday (8 p.m. to 11 p.m.) complete with throwback martini and oyster specials. Dress code? That’d be Joan Holloway-hot.

Southwark

701 S. Fourth St.

There’s not a trend to be found at this Queen Village mainstay. Just stiff drinks, a handful of confident dishes and friendly-enough barkeeps who preside over the room with an expectation of class — or at least Don Draper-level discreetness.

Butcher & Singer

1500 Walnut St.

On any other weekend, with its retro leather banquettes and “steaks and chops” menu, Butcher & Singer can feel a little too much like a Starr Productions feature film. But this week, we can’t think of a better way to break your “Mad Men” fast than a martini-fueled Porterhouse and Baked Alaska power lunch in the retro glam dining room.

Trestle Inn

11th and Callowhill sts.

This is where Draper walks in suited up, raises his eyebrows at the Scotch selection, writes the go-go dancer a check and leaves with the DJ’s girlfriend. Collective Philadelphia swoon. And … scene.
