Wing Bowl winner sets record eating 501 wings in 30 minutes

On Friday, February 2, contestants of the 26th annual Wing Bowl held at the Wells Fargo Center dug into wings starting at 6 a.m.

The event is presented by Steven Singer Jewelers and the contestant who eats the most wings receives a 2018 Hyundai Sonata, a custom Wing Bowl ring from Steven Singer, and $5,000.

The Bowl has three rounds, totaling 30 minutes. PJ Whellhan’s starts cooking at 1 a.m. to make over 10,000 chicken wings for the event.

This year, two-time champion Molly Schulyer won the contestant after breaking a world record of eating 501 wings in 30 minutes.
That’s approximately 16.7 wings per minute, or 3.5 seconds per wing.
Check out photos of the competition and Schulyer’s win, despite fierce competition from fellow competitors including Moe Train and Notorious B.O.B., above.
