Police on Thursday arrested a woman for allegedly attempting to bring a loaded gun into South Philadelphia High School.
Police said a school officer observed what appeared to be a firearm in 21-year-old Kelley Jones’ diaper bag around 10:45 a.m. as she walked through the scanning machine in the lobby.
After re-scanning Jones twice, the officer searched her bag and found a fully-loaded handgun, according to investigators.
He called Philadelphia police and Jones, who authorities said does not have a permit, was arrested. She is charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm and related offenses.
