Woman, 48, fatally shot in Germantown

Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found shot to death Monday evening inside a property in Germantown.

Police identified the victim as 48-year-old Rashida Irvin. Medics pronounced her dead at 6:45 p.m. Monday, shortly after she was found with a gunshot wound on the 6300 block of Germantown Avenue, authorities said.

No arrests have been made, and police have not commented on a possible motive. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Since the start of 2025, 138 people have been killed in Philadelphia, down 17% compared to the same date last year, according to police data.
