An unidentified woman, who was crossing Adams Avenue at Roosevelt Boulevard in the Crescentville neighborhood was killed when a speeding minivan ran a red light and struck her, knocking her about 200 feet down the road, Philadelphia Police told NBC10. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. The driver then fled the scene northbound on the Boulevard.

The woman died from her injuries. A student ID was reportedly found on the victim’s body, but police have not yet revealed which college she may have attended.

Witnesses said the woman was on her cellphone while walking at the crosswalk, according to NBC10.
