A Pennsylvania woman was rescued from a tree at a New Jersey religious retreatafter she climbed it to escape a coyote, NJ.com reports.

The 28-year-old woman, identified as April Lewis of Quakertown,told police she went for a walk in the wooded area around America’sKeswick camp at 10 p.m. Sundaywhen she encountered one of several coyotes.
She stayed there for five hours until another camper who had gone outside to smoke heard her cries for help.

Police located Lewisafter tracking her voice at about 3 a.m. She was about 15 feet above the ground.
NJ.com reports that Lewis tore one of her pant legs off and used it to tie herself to the tree, after she became too tired to climb down.
