Woman robbed after she was involved in car crash in West Philly

In the hopes of tracking down the individual responsible, the Philadelphia Police have shared surveillance video of a man wanted after a 66-year-old woman, who had just been involved in a car crash, was robbed as she handled the details if the incident.

According to police, the incident occurred on Friday, June 9, at around 12:35 p.m., after the woman had been involved in a crash along the 800 block of Belmont Avenue in West Philadelphia. As she was sorting out the details of the incident, police said, a man came up behind the woman and shoved her to the ground while taking her purse.

The suspect then fled on a bicycle and was last seen north on Belmont Avenue, law enforcement officials said. Police said that the wanted man was caught on video interacting with the video before the robbery.

Law enforcement officials described the wanted individual as a black male with a full beard, who is between 25 and 29 years-of-age and stands about five-foot, four-inches tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hat, black shirt, white shorts with an emoji print, and a red/white/blue backpack, police said.
