A woman was struck and killed by a school bus Tuesday morning in Mayfair.

Police said a 2002 Yellow Bluebird Durham School bus was driving south on the 7300 block of Frankford Avenue near Aldine Street.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Kristen Fink, shortly after 10:45 a.m. tried to cross Frankford avenue from the east curb.

Investigators said the bus struck the woman in the middle of Frankford Avenue, trapping her under its rear right tire.

Fink was pronounced dead on the scene at 11 a.m.

Police said there were no children aboard the bus, but that it was being operated by a trainee.

The training school bus also had on board a trainer and four additional trainees.

Authorities said Tuesday no charges had yet been filed in connection with the incident.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
