Philadelphia’s Yards Brewing Company hits a major milestone as one of the city’s favorite beverages celebrates 30 years of brewing in the City of Brotherly Love. In honor of the anniversary, Yards is kicking it back to 1994 with a 90s-themed birthday bash.

On Friday, Nov. 1, Yards Brewing Company will host an evening of beer, memories, and 90s nostalgia, featuring key figures from Yards’ history. The fun kicks off at the Yards Taproom on Spring Garden Street, and the event is free and open to the public, taking place from 6 to 11 p.m.

The can’t-miss event will include appearances by Fergus “Fergie” Carey of Fergie’s Pub and Tom Peters of Monk’s Cafe, two of Philadelphia’s most influential figures in the craft beer scene, the tapping of a firkin of Yards’ Extra Special Ale, the first beer the company ever brewed, with the chance to enjoy complimentary samples during the event. Yards will also make a limited supply of their Extra Special Ale available in canned six-packs for $12.99.

Yards founder Tom Kehoe will be honored in a special ceremony recognizing his contributions to Philadelphia’s brewing history. All the while, The Taproom will play 90s hits throughout the night, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for the celebration. Guests are encouraged to wear vintage Yards gear, with prizes and giveaways available to those who do.

Guests can enjoy old-school pricing on some of Yards’ iconic brews, including Philadelphia Pale Ale, Brawler, and, of course, their Extra Special Ale, all for just $3.75 per 20 oz pour throughout the night.

Yards Brewing Company began as a humble, garage-sized operation in 1994 and has grown to become Philadelphia’s go-to source for craft beer. Founded by college friends Tom Kehoe and Jon Bovit, Yards has proudly grown alongside Philadelphia, and is now a cornerstone in the local brewing scene. Yards can be found nearly everywhere beer is served in Philadelphia.

“Our beers have always been crafted by the people of this city, for the people of this city. There’s no place we’d rather call home,” said Kehoe.
