Yards Brewing debuts new winter ale

Philly brewer Yards just released a brand new seasonal beer capitalizing on the popularity of rye, available now through March. Yards Rye is an amber ale made with rye malt to give it subtle spice. It also has Bravo and Nugget hops and whole flower Chinook.

We haven’t had a chance to try the winter brew yet — or to Google what whole flower Chinook is — but Yards describes the beer as a “pungent ale with intense notes of citrus and pine” and recommends pairing it with hearty, cold weather dishes like roast pork and bratwurst. Your New Year’s resolution was to drink more, right?
