Chester Police are investigating after the charred remains of two dogs were found Saturday in Delaware County, NBC10 reported.
Investigators say the two dogs, which appeared to be mixed-breed pit bulls, were found on the 2000 block of West Sixth Street in Chester. Fire crews had been called to the scene around 8:30 p.m., when they found the carcasses on fire, according to 6ABC.

Authorities said the dogshad been tied up, placed in a bag and set on fire. They may have already been dead before being placed in the bag.
A cause of death has not yet been determined. Officials haven’t released any information regardingsuspects.

An animal welfare group is offering a $1,000 reward for any information relating to the case of animal cruelty,theMorning Call reported.
