2 dead in separate shootings in North Philly, Kingsessing

Gunfire left two men dead and three other people wounded in separate incidents Wednesday night and early Thursday across the city.

Authorities said a 20-year-old man was shot twice in his face and twice in his hand at around 12:15 a.m. Thursday on the 2700 block of N. Park Avenue in North Philadelphia.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died just before 4 a.m., according to police.

A few blocks away, on the 2400 block of N. Park Avenue, someone shot a 68-year-old man in his buttocks at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, according to authorities. He is expected to survive.

A 32-year-old man died after he was shot several times in the back just after 9 p.m. Wednesday on the 5500 block of Regent Street in Kingsessing, investigators said.

Police have not publicly identified either homicide victim.

In West Philadelphia, a 15-year-old boy suffered a wound to his knee after shots were fired just before 8:45 a.m. Thursday on the 5800 block of Filbert Street, police said. Officers took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

On Wednesday, at around 8:30 p.m., police responded to the 2500 block of N. 18th Street in North Philadelphia, where they found a 21-year-old man who had been shot in his abdomen, elbow and forearm, authorities said. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was in stable condition following the shooting.

No arrests were reported in the immediate aftermath of any of the shootings.
