On Saturday, at around 2:45 a.m., a 39-year-old man was shot several times at the corner of 25th Street and Ridge Avenue in North Philadelphia, authorities said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators said a gun was found next to his body.

Campus police rushed him to Temple University Hospital, and he succumbed to his injuries just after 4:15 a.m. Saturday, according to investigators.

The other victim, a 22-year-old woman, was shot in her thigh and hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries. She is a recent Temple graduate, said Jennifer D. Griffin, the college’s vice president of public safety, in a statement.
