2 killed in separate Philadelphia shootings

Two men were killed and a third man was injured in a pair of separate shootings Tuesday evening in Philadelphia.

Gunfire erupted just after 6:45 p.m. near 5th and Carpenter streets in Queen Village, and 23-year-old Michael Miller was shot several times, authorities said. Miller, of Olney, died a short time later at Jefferson University Hospital, according to police.

About 10 minutes earlier, someone shot 33-year-old Khron Hall multiple times in his face and torso on the 5400 block of Chester Avenue in Kingsessing, investigators said.

Officers took Hall, who lived in the neighborhood, to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of either shooting.

Earlier Tuesday, at around 11:45 a.m., a 36-year-old man was fatally shot on the 500 block of N. 57th Street in West Philadelphia, according to police. Authorities identified him Wednesday as Terrell Lubin, 36, of the Cedar Park section of West Philadelphia.

Following the killing, officers surrounded and barricaded a house on the 100 block of N. Ruby Street, believing a suspect had entered the property, though no one was apprehended. Investigators said an argument led to the shooting.

Through Tuesday, 349 homicides have occurred in the city this year, down 19% from the same date in 2022, according to PPD data.
