3 separate shootings occurred within 1 hour Sunday night

Four people were shot separately within an hour of each other Sunday night in Philadelphia.

Then, on Monday, just after 9:15 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was shot once in her chest and twice in her right hand inside the kitchen of a house on the 1700 block of Mohican Street in West Oak Lane, authorities said.

She was rushed to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition, according to police. Investigators said the victim knows the shooter and that officers recovered weapons and a car at the scene. A suspect has not been apprehended.

Two men were struck when gunfire erupted at around 10:45 p.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of E. Somerset Street in Kensington, police said.

A 32-year-old man was shot in the stomach, and the other victim, a 34-year-old man, was hit in his right forearm, authorities said. Both were later hospitalized in stable condition.

In Strawberry Mansion, someone shot a 17-year-old boy in his lower back at around 10:15 p.m. Sunday on the 2000 block of N. 30th Street, according to police. He was later listed in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

Earlier, just before 10 p.m., officers found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his hip inside a property on the 5400 block of Morse Street in Overbrook, according to investigators. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

A 60-year-old man was stabbed in his left thigh at around 9:45 p.m. Sunday outside on the 1500 block of N. 19th Street in North Philadelphia, police said. He was hospitalized and is expected to physically recover.

Authorities reported no arrests in the immediate aftermath of any of the violent incidents.

Through Sunday, 621 people had been shot this year in Philadelphia, a decrease of 17% compared with this point in 2022, according to PPD data. Homicides are also down 14%.
