A 4-year-old girl may have accidentally shot herself in the head Thursday at her North Philly home, investigators said.
The girl, who police did not identify, was shot once just above an eye around noon, Philly.com reported. A semiautomatic weapon was found nearby.
Police are reportedly questioning the girl’s mother, who also was not identified, but a police spokeswoman told Philly.com Friday that “it looks like the injuries are self-inflicted.” The mother and another 3-year-old child were home at the time.
It was unclear if charges would be filed.
The tragic shooting happened in a bedroom at a rowhouse on North 20th Street near Berks Street.
