Accessories Council Announces Pink Picks for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On Monday, September 19, the Accessories Council announced its 2011 pink picks in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month. When customers purchase any of the pink picks items in the month of October, a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This year’s pink picks include:

•Mini Ribbon Pink Cord Bracelet by Alex Woo. Alex’s mother passed away from breast cancer when she was just 16 and has been a supporter of the cause ever since.

•Anne Klein Limited Edition BCRF Watch. This pink, enamel bezel features hardware details on an oversized, silvertone case.

•Aveda hand relief (full size). This ultra rich moisturizer is one of my all time favs. Aveda will donate $4 from the purchase price of every bottle to BCRF.

•Bumble & Bumble spray de mode (10 oz.). I used this as one of my go-to styling products during The Philadelphia Collection festivities for flexible hold that can take heat and repeated brushing. Manufacturer Estee Lauder will donate $5 from the sale of each can to BCRF.

•Bobbi Brown Pink Ribbon Collection. A limited edition lip set pairs Bellini High Shimmer lip gloss and Pink lip color. $10 from each sale goes to BCRF.

•Chic Buds speaker ball. This portable speaker in a stylish leopard print and embellished with sparkling crystals is attached to a key ring for easy transport. It runs on a rechargeable battery that you can plug into your computer.

•Elizabeth Hurley Pink Ribbon Collection. Also from Estee Lauder, Pure Color lipstick in Wildly Pink comes in a pink accessory bag. The company will donate 20% of the suggested retail price to BCRF.

•Kenneth Jay Lane Meaningful Pink Bow Pin. Replace your usual pink ribbon with this stunning crystal version to support breast cancer awareness month with a touch of bling. KJL will donate $3.98 from the sale of each to Fashion Footwear Charitable Foundation to support breast cancer research.

•La Mer lip balm. The nutrient-rich broth found in the company’s Crème de la Mer is combined with a lip lipid complex, marine anti-freeze protein and mint and mineral complex to create this soothing balm. $10 from the sale of each Pink Ribbon lip balm will go to BCRF.

•Lacoste Pink Croc sunglasses. Only 500 pairs of these specs will be sold at select optical shops. Get yours before they’re gone!

•Mundi Westport smartphone wristlet. Carry your cell in this pink glazed faux crocodile case. It has room for your phone, credit cards and ID. Perfect for a night on the town.

•Thale Blanc Exclusive Pink shoulder bag. Throw this bag, called “la pouchette,” over your shoulder when running errands. It’s just big enough to fit your essentials.

Get out there and shop for a cause – like you really needed an excuse – and stay tuned to southphillyfashionista.com for individual reviews of my favorite pink picks.
