Queen Village Drug Ring Broken Up

Fifteen people were arrested this morning as part of a drug trafficking ring in Queen Village, federal authorities said.

The ring was allegedly based in the Courtyard Apartments-Riverview on Fourth Street near Washington Avenue and operated around Fifth and Christian streets. Mayoshi Sanders, 36, of Philadelphia, has been charged as the ringleader.

Between March 2009 and August 2011, authorities claim the group distributed more than 500 grams of cocaine and 280 grams of crack cocaine, including purchases made by informants and undercover officers.

“The residents who reside in the area in which the Sanders DTO operated deserve to live in an area which is free from the negative quality of life consequences associated with illicit drug dealing,” U.S. Attorney Zane Memeger said in a statement.

Charged with Sander is Alfred Jenkins, the accused cocaine supplier, Tiyeak Cook, Jamal Stewart, Thomas Bowie, Elizabeth Cadogan, William Frisby, Kwane Glover, Harold Jackson, Philis McAllister, Betty Ann McKinney, Malani Sanders, Davon Stokes, Frank Wade, and Terrance Wade.

In addition to numerous drug charges, the defendants also face charges on maintaining a drug house, unlawful use of a communication facility in furtherance of a drug crime, and weapons offenses.
