Another NFL concussion suit filed in Philadelphia

Sixty-two more former NFL players, including at least 14 former Eagles, filed a federal lawsuit Friday accusing the NFL of concealing information about concussion-related dementia and brain disease, according to a press release.

The former Eagles include linebackers Seth Joyner, Jeremiah Trotter, Michael Stonebreaker and Britt Hager, centers Steve Everitt and Dave Alexander, defensive lineman Glen Steele, running backs Gary Ellerson and Richard Bielski, defensive back William Frizzelle, cornerback Jerry Holmes, defensive tackle Andy Harmon and offensive linemen Leo Goeas and Bob Landsee.

The complaint, one of the largest yet and filed in Philadelphia, alleges that the NFL hid medical evidence from players showing the association between permanent brain injury and repeated concussions.

“If the NFL knew that our futures were at risk and covered that medical evidence up, shame on them,” Hager said in the statement. “They need to do what is right by us.”
