It has been a long time since La Salle’s men’s basketball team advanced to the postseason — 1992, to be exact. That’s not for a lack of talent.
Guys like Steven Smith, Rasual Butler and Donnie Carr all enjoyed great success. Now, you can toss guard Rodney Green into the mix. Green led the team in scoring and became the 46th player in school history to eclipse 1,000 points.
“Rodney has won a lot of games, been all-conference and All-Big 5,” said La Salle coach John Giannini. “Rodney and our other seniors want to experience a new level of success with the postseason. That work starts now and trying to improve and get better every day.”
If Green can lead the Explorers into postseason play, it would be quite an accomplishment. La Salle is coming off an 18-13 season, including a 9-7 mark in the Atlantic 10. The Explorers were picked to finish fourth in the A-10 coaches’ preseason poll.
