You would think Andy Reid might have quite a bit of free time these days. With the NFL lockout in its 69th day, the Eagles coach has yet to conduct an actual practice with his squad.
Instead, Reid took to the NovaCare Complex’s indoor bubble and instructed the city’s top high school stars on the intricacies of football. The Philadelphia Eagles City High School All-Star Classic will take place Saturday (2 p.m.) at Lincoln Financial Field.
“It was good to see the kids,” Reid said Tuesday. “What a great opportunity for them.”
Of course, he would much rather be coaching Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy and the rest of the boys.
“Would we like to have the players here to coach? Absolutely,” Reid said. “We’d like to have that. But that’s not the way it is right now, so you put your focus on other things and you make sure that you take care of business in other areas.”
