Andy Reid still doesn’t have that elusive Super Bowl ring, but now he has three more years to get it.
The Eagles handed their head coach a three-year contract extension yesterday, keeping him on the payroll through 2013.
“I am a piece of the puzzle here, and by my waist size I’m a big piece, but in reality I’m just a piece of the puzzle,” Reid said.
Owner Jeffrey Lurie said the deal was “inevitable” and listed Reid’s work ethic, commitment to winning and popularity in the locker room for reasons to keep Big Red around. Of course winning the Super Bowl remains the No. 1 priority.
“The one remaining priority is to win a Super Bowl championship and go from there,” Lurie said. “That’s what this organization is obsessed with.”
