Bill Clinton gave Philly quite the surprise on Sunday when he made an unannounced appearance at the fifth annual Made in America music festival. The former president hung out in the VIP section with Jay Z, Beyonce and other celebrities, including Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. He also went into the crowd to catch Chance the Rapper’s set — just in time for Beyonce to be serenaded by the hip hop star in celebration of her 35th birthday.

Bill did more than enjoy the entertainment, however. He met with volunteers from Hillary for Pennsylvania who were busy registering voters at the festival.
