A black bear sighting was reported on Friday near a Fairmount Park creek, and now authorities are urging the public to be extra cautious in the area.
On Friday morning, a parkgoer saw the bear near the Valley Green Inn on Forbidden Drive, NBC10 reported. It was seen walking on the banks of the adjacent Wissahickon Creek, where it was also photographed swimming.

The bear was seen in an area that is close to several trails popular for walking and hiking, according to NBC10.
A man who saw the bear told6ABCthat the animal disappeared into the woods on the Chestnut Hill side of the creek.
