Two people, including a young boy, were injured after shots were fired Monday night in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood, police said.
The victims – a 14-year-old boy and a 37-year-old man – arrived at Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle just after 7 p.m., according to authorities. Investigators determined the shooting happened on the 800 block of W. Pike Street.
Police said the teenager was shot twice in his right arm, while the adult was struck in his left leg. Both victims were being treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.
The PPD did not report any arrests Tuesday and provided no information about a possible motive. Anyone with details about the incident is asked to contact the department’s Shooting Investigation Group at 215-686-8270 or call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
Although data shows that rates of gun violence are down this year, the shooting happened during a particular violent evening. At around the same time Monday, another teenager and a young woman were shot during a road rage altercation in West Philadelphia, authorities said.
