BREAKING Prisoner escapes in Center City

Police are searching for an escaped prisoner who broke free from police custody at Pennsylvania Hospital on the 800 block of Spruce Street in Center City.

The suspect is described as a black male, six feet three inches and 180 pounds, with a sparse beard and mustache and multiple tattoos covering his face and arms, including a capital “H” between his eyebrows.

He was reportedly arrested in West Philadelphia on drug charges, but complained of pain while being transported to the Roundhouse at 8th and Race streets. The police wagon took a detour to the hospital to get the prisoner’s alleged pain checked out, but he somehow got away and outran officers during a foot pursuit, according to reports.

The escapee was last seen on the 400 block of South Jessup near 11th and Lombard streets. He was still wearing handcuffs – and UGG boots.
