October is a time to think pink. Here is how to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Philadelphia.
City Works Eatery & Pour House
Throughout October, City Works Eatery & Pour House in King of Prussia has partnered with Boston Beer Co. to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout this time, the eatery will offer the “Hops for Hope” campaign, where both City Works and Boston Beer Co. will each donate $1 per Angry Orchard Crisp and Boston Lager sold in October. As a release states, all money raised will be donated to the Lynn Sage Foundation, which is seeking better breast cancer outcomes by funding innovative research.

Local graphic and fine artist—and also breast cancer survivor—Sarah Messina has teamed up with Philly yoga teacher, Becca Grites to host an event chock full of yoga, a few special treats, and a lot of community. Taking place in the Azalea Gardens of Fairmount Park, the duo will host a restorative yoga flow from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, which will then be followed by raffles and treats.
The event will benefit the local breast cancer organization, Living Beyond, with tickets coming out to be $15. All proceeds will go directly to this organization, and more information on the event can be found on Eventbrite. Those interested in the event can also email turntableyoga@gmail.com for additional questions, other ways to participate, or for ticketing inquiries.

Laps & Laces Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence Awareness – Walk The Field
On Oct. 30, Philadelphians can come out to help support and stand in solidarity for “HER” with Walk The Field. Taking place that Sunday at 1 p.m., participants can walk the track to show support and solidarity for both Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence.
As the official event description states, the event is about ensuring the future of women both mentally and physically – while doing our part to provide events and platforms to bridge the gap between all demographics of our growing membership base. This is a free event, but registration is encouraged. And to add additional support, half the proceeds for breast cancer or domestic violence t-shirts sales will go to support help each cause.
