Bryzgalov: Flyers ‘not good’

Philadelphia Flyers v New York Rangers Bryzgalov stopped 16-of-20 shots in Tuesday night’s 4-2 loss to New York, including two third-period scores by Rick Nash.

The Flyers lost to the Rangers Tuesday night after Rick Nash torched them for two goals in the third period — two of the easier goals of his career. After the loss, one Flyer decided it was the perfect time to state the obvious.

“Not good, we’re not good,” said goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov, who let in all four goals, stopping 16-of-20 shots. “Obviously, we’re not where we want to be. And the farther it is gonna be is going to be more ugly. This is the reality.”

The Flyers were burned by two bad line changes on both Nash goals — one by Kimmo Timonen, the other by Luke Schenn. The defeat dropped the Orange and Black back below the .500 mark.

“These games usually come down to a bad change or a turnover,” Timonen said. “We can’t do those kinds of mistakes in these kind of games. It bites you in the ass.”

The Flyers are off Wednesday before returning to the Wells Fargo Center Thursday night to take on the rival Penguins. The Flyers stand ninth in the Eastern Conference standings.
