After suffering several personal losses, a Bucks County couple has come up with a new way to celebrate the lives of departed loved ones.
The idea came to Rick Miller as he drove home from a country fair with his wife Lorie, according to a release. “Let’s offer a
service that attaches QR Codes (quick response codes) to headstones,
that will link to a memorial website that is personalized for your loved
ones,” he said.
The pair founded Digital Legacys, LLC, a company that offers laser-etched brass or stainless steel QR codes that can be attached to tombstones with heavy-duty adhesive
tape. The codes, which can be scanned with any smartphone or tablet, take users to a website dedicated to the deceased featuring stories, pictures, music and social media plugins.
Don’t know how to set up a memorial page? The company has that covered, too, offering yearly or lifetime webpage services to which the markers can
be linked. “We understand that this can be an emotional process,” Lorie Miller said in a release. “To
make it easier, you just give us your information, photos, etc. and we
do all the work.” The information can be sent electronically or through the mail.
And the service isn’t limited to humans only. “We have taken this service a step further,” Lorie Miller said in a release, “Because our family pets are so important to us we also offer this service to all pet owners.”
Services start at $50.00 for a one-year memorial website only or $100 for a lifetime website only and range up to $125 for a QR tag plus lifetime memorial website package and $28 for each additional QR tag.
