Haven’t yet gotten tickets for this year’s Budweiser Made in America Festival?
Budweiser is partnering with conservation nonprofits Living Lands and Waters and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary to give fans a chance to attend the star-studded fete on Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway for free –and to do some good, in the process.
Anheuser-Busch employees and officials from the environmental organizations will from noon through 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 host a cleanup of the Delaware River at Penn’s Landing, located at 201 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd.
Registered volunteers aged 21 and over – who can sign up here – will be rewarded with a one-day pass to the Made in America Festival for either Sunday, Aug. 31 or Monday, Sept. 1.
There are a limited number of tickets and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Though all ages are invited to participate, only those 21 and up will be eligible to receive passes.
City officials will also be on hand at the cleanup –Mayor Michael Nutter is scheduled to appear around noon, along with Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Shana Ruffus.
It’s all a part of the national Budweiser America Made Better platform, which supports water conservation by connecting adults across the country to local watershed cleanups, inspiring volunteerism with tickets to local Made in America events.
The program website notes, “Water is a key ingredient in beer, and vital to life on the planet. Budweiser works hard to conserve and protect this resource, and for many years our employees have volunteered their time to improve local watersheds.”
Budweiser will this year donate $150,000 to watershed protection organization the River Network to support America Made Better cleanups in Philadelphia and additional cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis and New York.
