Charter school heavily damaged

PARKSIDE – Fire tore through a large portion of a charter school on Warren Street in this West Philadelphia neighborhood early yesterday morning, eventually climbing to five alarms.

Students at the Global Leadership Academy’s Wing Site will not be able to report until Jan. 18, according to the website for the school just south of 52nd Street and Lancaster Avenue. “The school cannot be salvaged,” the website said, asking parents to check back for more updates.
