Owner and developer Bart Blatstein is planning to bring two big-name chefs to his proposed $700 million Provence Resort and Casino at Broad and Callowhill: Tom Colicchio, of “Top Chef” fame, and Andrew Carmellini, a James Beard Award winner and Michelin-starred chef with a restaurant in Robert De Niro’s Greenwich Hotel.
The restaurants will be the first Philly ventures for both chefs. The Provence, set to be located on the former site of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, will also feature eateries from as-yet-unnamed local chefs. The casino-hotel complex will include 75 restaurants, bars and shops, plus a concert hall, a swim club, a nightclub, a spa and fitness center, and meeting and event space.
