Kids’ book Pinkalicious is all about saying “pink” as many times as you can. Well, maybe not really. But the pink-hued tale, by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, is coming to stage with Pinkalicious Pinkerton, her brother Peter, and their pinkerrific cupcakes. The dramatic twist? Pinkalicious eats so many that she develops pinkitis, which her doctor says can only be cured by eating green foods.

The book, and now musical, was inspired by Victoria’s two daughters, who love the color pink, of course, and cupcakes. The family-friendly show is directed by Allison Heishman, making her directorial debut at the Walnut Street Theater. Her resume includes two world premieres for Azuka Theatre.
